Why Marine Life is Important?

Marine life is essential for global biodiversity, providing sustenance for communities, supporting economies through industries like fisheries and tourism, and playing a crucial role in climate regulation by absorbing carbon dioxide and producing oxygen. Oceans also offer valuable medicinal resources, cultural significance, and recreational opportunities. Additionally, marine ecosystems contribute vital services such as nutrient cycling, water purification, and shoreline protection. Preserving marine life is crucial for a healthy planet, emphasizing the need for conservation and sustainable practices.

How to Care for Marine Life while Scuba Diving?

  1. Maintain a safe distance to observe without disturbing marine life.
  2. Don’t touch or hold any marine life you see.
  3. Avoid touching the seabed or coral reefs to prevent damage.
  4. Avoid chasing or catching marine life to prevent stress.
  5. Do Not Feed Marine Life as it disrupts natural behavior and can be harmful.
  6. Avoid sunscreen with OXYBENZONE instead use reef-friendly sunscreen.
  7. Bring back the debris to the surface that you notice while diving.
  8. Practice reasonable photography by minimizing the usage of flash.
