Ferry from Port Blair to Baratang - Timings, Operators & Seat Prices
Travelling to Baratang has always meant an early start! Visitors usually leave Port Blair around 3:00 – 4:00 AM to reach Jirkatang Check Post before the 6:00 AM convoy through the Andaman Trunk Road (ATR) by private cab or bus. Since only a limited number of vehicles are allowed in each convoy, missing it often means waiting for the next one, which can disrupt the day’s plans. The journey also involves crossing the Middle Strait by vehicle ferry, adding more waiting time along the way.
To make travel more convenient, Makruzz Ruby is introducing a direct passenger ferry between Port Blair and Baratang from 1 October 2026. The ferry sails non-stop and reaches Baratang in approximately 2 hours, allowing travellers to skip the convoy system and the waiting involved in the road journey.
If you’re planning a trip to Baratang, this ferry offers a simpler way to get there. You can book your tickets online with Go2Andaman and receive instant confirmation along with customer support.
