Through a series of dives, you’ll gain experience in various specialty areas like deep diving, and navigation. This certification opens up a wider range of diving opportunities, allowing you to explore deeper and more challenging dive sites.
Chidiyatapu, situated to the south of Port Blair is a quaint village where divers frequent all the time. Important Information
- Minimum age to do the advanced open water diver course is 12 years.
- One should be able to swim for 200m, or snorkel for 300 m and float for 10 minutes to be eligible to do this course.
- An Open Water Diver/ Junior Open Water Diver/ or qualifying certification is also a requirement.
- Complete your theory at your convenience before starting your practical sessions for a better understanding.
- Mention all the medical conditions truthfully so that the instructor can help you find a solution before dives in order to avoid any issues underwater.
- Bring an extra pair of innerwear as your wetsuit will get completely drenched.
- Have a light meal before diving to avoid feeling nauseous.
Cancellations & refunds
- Free cancellation is available up to 24 hours before the dive.
- Free rescheduling can be done until 12 hours before the dive, but it completely depends on the slot availability.
Who cannot do Scuba Diving?
People with disabilities, pregnant women, people with back issues and respiratory illnesses are strictly not allowed to Scuba Dive.
Is scuba diving safe?
Scuba Diving is a safe water activity that is done by thousands of people across the world, daily. It is recommended that you have a decent level of fitness like being able to walk for 45 mins without getting tired. All Instructors and dive masters are equipped with internationally recognized certifications and are trained in dive supervision, diver rescue and Emergency First Response (EFR).
Do I need to know how to swim?
You can do scuba diving even if you do not know how to swim. You will always be accompanied by an experienced instructor or dive master. They’re there to help you stay comfortable underwater and will assist you at all times.
What to carry?
Carry a valid government ID (mandatory for certification courses), swimwear, a towel, and a change of clothes. Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, and a water bottle. If you’re doing a PADI certification course, also carry passport-size photos and your basic medical details.
What to wear?
Wear your swim-wear or you can even wear a quick-dry shirt and shorts. A wetsuit will be provided at the dive shop that will be worn over this. Wear flip-flops when you go to the dive shop. It is advisable not to wear sports shoes, heels or boots.
