About the Activity

Did you know that Neil Island is said to have the most beautiful stargazing points in India? Conducted at a beach, sometime after the sunset, this walk will take you to the milky way galaxy! The timings for the walk are dependent on the movement of the moon and as such the walk is not possible for about 10 days a month. Pre-dawn walks are also possible, this allows us to see different constellations than those seen in the evening and the night.

Have you ever wondered why some stars twinkle and others don’t? How does the moon journey across constellations? What stories our ancestors found in the skies? How to identify constellations and nakshatras? How to measure time by the stars? This nightlife activity in Andaman answers all your such questions!

A first of its kind walk that takes the walker through the workings of the night sky accompanied by stories of stars, planets and constellations from Indian mythology. The walk will help the person understand the movement of the moon and the stars. They will be able to use this knowledge to continue this as a hobby wherever they are, as long as they have access to a clear night sky.
