El Dorado Beach Resort

Beach No.5, Vijay Nagar, Havelock Island

About El Dorado Beach Resort

A lovely resort on the exquisite Beach No. 5, El Dorado offers accommodation options to travellers of all budgets.

The cheapest are small bamboo huts furnished with a double bed, some furniture, a mosquito net and a shared bathroom. For a few hundred rupees more, you can get the same bamboo huts with attached bathrooms.  The newer AC deluxe and super deluxe concrete cottages come with a TV, complimentary breakfast and en-suite bathrooms but are pricier. While some of the huts are close to the beach, most of the cottages are cramped at the back.

The beach area in front of El Dorado makes for a charming swim during high tide but one ought to be cautious of rocks during low tide. The restaurant (with bar) serves typical Indian dishes and seafood with a few continental options. The resort also organises fishing, bike/scooter rents, snorkelling and boat trips and can arrange scuba diving courses or fun dives with a dive centre. Though it is an average resort, the owner is very helpful and friendly.
