Once a backpackers’ paradise, Gold India underwent a major makeover and is now a colourful yet comfortable resort on Beach No. 5.

Of the various types of rooms that they offer, the newer ones in a two-storey wooden building with small balconies are the better option. All their rooms are clean and have large comfortable beds, air conditioning, attached bathrooms, furniture with sofas and TV, albeit rather ill-coordinated in terms of colour. Gold India also has a restaurant, though their food is average. The in-house diving centre arranges fun dives and snorkelling trips mainly for resort guests.

While their accommodation is decent now, some say Gold India has lost its charm and the staff are not always accommodating. If it is clean and spacious rooms that you are looking for, Gold India is a good pick, else you could look for better options.
