Frequently asked questions

Do I need to make a reservation in advance?

Reservations are not mandatory at most restaurants in the Andamans, but we recommend booking in advance during peak tourist seasons (December to March) or for popular restaurants and dinner hours.

Yes, most restaurants offer vegetarian options. Vegan choices may be limited, but some cafes and resorts are happy to customize dishes upon request.

Yes, some restaurants and restobars serve beer and wine. Liquor licenses are restricted, so availability may vary depending on the island and the restaurant.

Fresh seafood is a highlight here! Expect to find fish, prawns, lobsters, and crabs, often caught locally and prepared in Indian, Continental, or fusion food styles depending on the restaurant.

Andaman restaurants usually close early, most by 9:30–10:00 PM. It's best to check timings in advance or plan dinner early, especially on smaller islands.

Many places accept cards and UPI, especially in Port Blair and Havelock. But on remote islands carrying some cash is advisable.
