About Marina Park
Marina Park is a famous local attraction in Port Blair. Locals and tourists alike enjoy spending time at this park which is known for attractions like the Children’s Traffic Park, Rajiv Gandhi Water Sports Complex and a Marine Aquarium managed by the fisheries department.
The park though is often confused with Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park. This is a sanctuary located near Wandoor and was established in 1983 under the Wildlife Protection Act to protect the marine life and coral reefs found in the area. The national park too is worth a visit when you are in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
How To Reach Marina Park
Marina Park is in Rajiv Gandhi Nagar. This is approximately 8 kilometers and takes 30 minutes from Port Blair Veer Savarkar International Airport, South Andaman Islands. You can hail a cab, bike, bus or taxi to reach here.

Things To Do In and Around Marina Park
1. Children’s Traffic Park – This fun park combines learning and play to help children learn traffic rules. The entire park is designed like a miniature street, with the street lights lit, meandering roads and even traffic cops. The park also has slides, and swings to entertain children. In the evenings, children can cycle around the park. This is a unique experience for children and adults alike.
2. Jogging and Walking Paths – Fitness enthusiasts can use the sea side walk lane and jogging paths to explore the park. These well-maintained paths are perfect to get in your daily steps even as you enjoy an indulgent vacation. 3. Rajiv Gandhi Water Sports Complex – The water sports complex is a dream come true for adventure-loving tourists. Port Blair has two water sports facilities and Marina Park is one of them. The water sports facilities offered here include jet ski rides, Banana Rides, Parasailing, Kayaking and Glass Bottom Boat rides. Though scuba diving and snorkeling are not offered here you can try these at Chidiya Tapu.
G2A Tip: Want to visit Ross Island? Take a ferry from Aberdeen Jetty which is located in the sports complex. The island is located nearby Port Blair. You can take a ferry from Aberdeen Jetty, which is a 20-minute walk from Aberdeen Bazaar, to reach the island.
4. Marine Aquarium and Museum – This small museum cum aquarium is maintained by the fisheries department. This museum, located near Marina Park, is home to vibrant sea creatures. You can see the different marine life found here and marvel at Mother Nature’s miracle.
