Neil’s Cove is a hidden gem of sheltered sand and little inlets nestled near Radhanagar Beach in Havelock Island. Most tourists flock to the popular Radhanagar Beach but miss this splendid lagoon that is just 10-15 minutes away. Neil’s Cove is a perfect half moon crescent holding crystal clear azure waters. It’s a sight of unmatched natural beauty offering gorgeous vistas of white powdery sands offset by lush greenery.
The best time to visit this beautiful cove in the Andaman and Nicobar islands is from November to February. The weather is pleasant allowing you to enjoy your island vacation.
How To Reach Havelock Island Neil’s Cove
- First, reach Radhanagar Beach and spend some time at this famous beach.
- Neil’s cove lies northwest of Radhanagar Beach. To reach Neil’s Cove, start walking on the soft sands.
- The walk only takes 10-15 minutes and you will find yourself at a rocky corner. Turn here to find yourself at this lovely lagoon with crystalline waters.
Things To Do At Neil’s Cove
1. Swimming: The beautiful teal lagoon is so inviting that you won’t be able to resist a quick swim. Yet respect the warning signs to not swim during dawn or dusk. Also pay attention to warnings regarding crocodiles and stay away from the waters.
2. Snorkeling: The pristine lagoon has enclosed coral reefs. You can glimpse this marine life full of colorful fish and colorful crabs by shallow diving or snorkeling in the waters.
3. Bird Watching – The secluded sight of Neil’s cove is the reason why many colorful endemic birds flock here. This seclusion coupled with the natural habitat of silky white sands and lush green vegetation offer the perfect environment for bird watching.
4. Sunset Spotting – When you visit Neil’s Cove be sure to stay till evening. A glimpse of the gorgeous sunsets will make the experience worth it.
