About Lakshmanpur Beach
Lakshmanpur Beach, located on Neil Island (Shaheed Dweep), is known for its long white sandy shoreline, clear blue waters, and spectacular sunset views. The beach is not suitable for swimming due to sharp corals and strong currents, but it’s perfect for evening walks, shell collecting, and photography. Lakshmanpur Beach is divided into two stretches: Lakshmanpur I, famous for sunsets, and Lakshmanpur II, known for its natural rock formations and shallow tidal pools. Basic food stalls and seating areas are available near the entrance, making it a convenient and scenic spot for first-time visitors.
How to Reach Lakshmanpur Beach?
To the far west on Neil Island lies Lakshmanpur Beach AKA Beach number 1. It is located about 2kms from the centre (market) and 2.5kms from the jetty. The best way to reach depends on where you are travelling from and the time at hand. The roads in Neil are flat and easy to walk/cycle on. For a more convenient travel option, you can rent taxis, auto-rickshaws or 2-wheelers (daily rentals only). You can find one at the jetty or by requesting it at your hotel.
Note that to find the entrance to the beach, you must travel a few metres on a narrow mud road which begins on a small turning where the tarred road ends.
