About Aves Island

Aves Island is a tiny, uninhabited gem located just off the coast of Mayabunder in North Andaman. Known for its calm, crystal-clear waters and untouched sandy shoreline, this island is perfect for a peaceful day out. Unlike more popular tourist spots, Aves is quiet, raw, and completely crowd-free.

The island once housed a coconut plantation, and remnants of it still stand amidst the greenery. There are no shops, resorts, or activities here, just you, the beach, and pure silence. It’s ideal for nature lovers, photographers, and anyone looking to escape into solitude.

How to reach Aves Island?

Aves Island is a 20-minute boat ride from Mayabunder Jetty. While earlier, fisherman boats (Dungi) were allowed, they are now banned. You must take prior permission from the forest department to be able to go and a boat will be allotted if available. Do plan this in advance and take necessary permits.
The ride to the beach and back is very scenic and often an exciting part of the trip.
