Things to Do in Sitapur Beach
Sitapur Beach is more about peaceful views, sunrise experiences, and coastal scenery than water activities. The beach is ideal for travellers looking to slow down and enjoy the quieter side of Neil Island.
Watch the Sunrise
Sitapur Beach is the best place in Neil Island to watch the sunrise. If you’re staying on the island, it’s worth waking up early and reaching the beach before dawn. As the sun rises over the Bay of Bengal, the sky slowly changes colour and the entire coastline begins to light up.
Unlike the sunset beaches in Neil Island, mornings here are usually quiet and uncrowded, making it a peaceful way to start the day.
Enjoy the Cliffside Views
One of the unique features of Sitapur Beach is its dramatic coastline. The beach is surrounded by natural cliffs and elevated viewpoints that offer beautiful views of the sea below.
Many visitors spend time simply sitting along these viewpoints, enjoying the ocean breeze and watching the waves crash against the rocky shoreline. The scenery feels very different from the flat sandy beaches found elsewhere on the island.
Relax by the Shore
Unlike Bharatpur Beach, Sitapur Beach is not a beach where people spend an entire day. Most travellers visit for sunrise, walk around the coastline, enjoy the views for a while, and then head back for breakfast or continue their sightseeing around Neil Island.
The quieter surroundings and smaller crowds make it a refreshing stop, especially for those who prefer nature and scenic views over beach activities.
Couple & Family Photoshoot
Sitapur Beach offers a very different backdrop compared to the other beaches in Neil Island. The dramatic cliffs, massive driftwood scattered along the shore, natural cave-like sections, forest-covered surroundings, and open sea views create plenty of unique spots for photographs.
The soft morning light during sunrise adds to the beauty of the landscape, making it a popular location for honeymoon couples and families looking to capture memorable holiday photos. Unlike crowded beaches, Sitapur’s natural setting allows for more relaxed and scenic photographs with fewer people in the background.
Combine with Bharatpur Beach or Laxmanpur Beach
Many travellers begin their day at Sitapur Beach and then continue exploring the rest of Neil Island. After sunrise, you can visit Bharatpur Beach for water activities or head towards Natural Bridge and Laxmanpur Beach later in the day. Visiting Sitapur early in the morning also helps you avoid the stronger afternoon heat while making the most of your day on the island.

Important Tide & Safety Note
Travellers exploring the far left side of Sitapur Beach can find interesting rocky formations, cave-like sections, and even remains of an old shipwreck during low tide. However, it is very important to check tide timings with local guides, nearby vendors, or beach incharges before walking too far.
As the tide rises after sunrise, the water level can quickly reach the cliffside areas, making the return path difficult and sometimes nearly impossible to cross safely. Visitors should avoid staying in these sections for too long during rising tide conditions.
