About Yerrata Mangrove Interpretation Centre

Mangrove Interpretation Centre at Yerrata offers valuable information about mangroves. The centre was build by the Department of Environment and Forests as a step toward creating awareness among general public and tourists about the importance of mangroves. There is a 13m high Mangrove View Watch Tower where visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the small centre, a little pond with lotus flowers and of course the mangrove forest. There is also a Natural Trail of 350m of bench walk offering a pleasant walk trough the mangroves.

How to Reach Yerrata Mangrove Interpretation Centre?

Close to the Yeratta Jetty, is the walkway and interpretation centre. It lies about 9kms away from the city centre and to the southern end of the Rangat district. The walkway, which itself is just about 350metres long. The best way to get here is to hire a taxi, auto-rickshaw or take a bus (understand timings in advance to avoid inconvenience). 2-wheeler rentals are not available.
